Romanian Beef Patties (Romania)

Yield: 8 Servings


2 lbs Ground beef
1/2 Cup (8 tbs) Beef broth
2 Clove (10 gm) Garlic, minced
1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Teaspoon Baking soda
3/4 Teaspoon Ground allspice
1/2 Teaspoon, crushed Dried thyme
1/8 Teaspoon Ground nutmeg
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
8 Hamburger buns split and toasted


Combine ground beef, beef broth, garlic, salt, baking soda, allspice, thyme, nutmeg, and pepper.  Shape into 8 patties. Let stand at room temperature about 30 minutes.  Broil 4 inches from heat about 8 minutes.  Turn and continue broiling 4 to 7 minutes more.
