  • “Mir wëlle bleiwe, war mir sin”, the national motto of Luxembourg, means “We want to remain what we are”
  • Native born Luxembourgers are generally trilingual, learning Luxembourgish (Letzebuergesch) from infancy, German in elementary school, to be replaced by French in the later grades
  • Luxembourg has the highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita in the world at about three times the average GDP of all of Europe, and has been ranked first in Europe and fourth in the world for economic freedom
